Xiaomi Could Announce Purported Redmi Note 9 Pro Max at March 12 Launch Event
Redmi Note 9 Pro will reportedly be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 800 SoC.
HIGHLIGHTS
Redmi Note 9 series is all set to go official in India on March 12. However, Xiaomi's lineup could be a little different this year. While the Redmi Note 9 and Redmi Note 9 Pro are anticipated to debut later this week, recent teasers from Xiaomi India's top management suggest that there could also be a Redmi Note 9 Pro Max model which might break cover at the same event. As the name suggests, the purported Redmi Note 9 Pro Max would be a top-of-the-line offering with the most powerful hardware of the series. If current interpretations of Xiaomi's teasers so far turn out to be accurate, Redmi Note 9 Pro Max could pack quad rear cameras and the MediaTek Dimensity 800 SoC.
Last week we learned that the Redmi Note 9 series launch event will take place on March 12 at an online-only event. We also saw the phone in a Geeekbench listing which revealed 6GB RAM, Android 10 and an unannounced chipset bearing the "curtana" moniker. Now, noted tipster Ishan Agarwal came through with some more details on the hotly anticipated midranger.
The Note 9 Pro is expected to come with a 6.67" LCD display of FHD+ resolution and a 20:9 aspect ratio. It will have a 16MP selfie cam while around the back will sit 48MP main shooter, 8MP ultrawide snapper, 5MP macro cam and a depth helper.
The Snapdragon 720G SoC is tipped to sit at the helm with 4/6GB RAM while storage options will be 64GB and 128GB. Battery-wise we should expect a 5,020mAh cell with 18W charging speeds.
The Redmi Note 9 Pro will come in Aurora Blue, Glacier White and Interstellar Black color options. As usual, we'll make sure to update you once more info emerges.
Moreover, Xiaomi's Global VP Manu Kumar Jain has teased that the March 12 event might be the venue for the launch of three phones, which might be referring to the Redmi Note 9, Redmi Note 9 Pro, and Redmi Note 9 Pro Max.
