Elon Musk has long described robots working on artificial intelligence and machine learning as a threat to humanity, but Musk says the Tesla robot will be friendly and will not dominate humans.
Highlights
- Tesla, codenamed Optimus, is working on a robot
- It will be called Tesla Bot
- Will make everyday work easier
It would probably be less appropriate for humans to say "the world has reached the moon" as an example of technology, because here humans have started making robots like humans. You may have heard of or seen many robots by now, but Elon Musk, the world-renowned business and CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, has also jumped into the race. Musk has revealed that his Tesla company is building a humanoid robot, which will work like a servant in the house.
Tesla hosted the AI Day digital event on Friday, in which the company unveiled its plans on Artificial Intelligence. The company also announced an upcoming project, which will be a humanoid robot. The company will also use part of the Auto Pilot Driver Assistance in this robot. A glimpse of this robot was also shown at the event. In appearance, this robot looks just like humans. However, it doesn't have to be the same design at launch.
Elon Musk says that this robot of Tesla will be friendly and will not dominate over humans. Tell me, Alan Musk has been describing robots working on artificial intelligence and machine learning for a long time as a threat to humanity. Tesla says the prototype of this robot will be ready by next year. This robot will be made 5.8 feet tall and 125 pounds (about 57 kg) heavy, somewhat like an average human. Currently this robot is codenamed Optimus.
Musk explained that this robot will be a kind of personal assistant, which will be able to do everyday work at your home. The user will be able to use common voice commands to operate it. For example you can ask this robot to bring groceries or you can ask him for help to fix your car. It will be named Tesla Bot. Its top speed will be 5MPH (about 8 kilometers per hour).
At the moment, no exact date has been given for its launch.
