Electric Scooter is in great demand in the country. One by one new models of electric scooters are being launched. Meanwhile, some startups in Bangalore have made a unique start in converting every old petrol-powered scooter into an electric scooter. There is no extra cost for it. Not only this, a company is also making and offering hybrid scooters.

Bounce, a startup company that provides ride sharing services in Bangalore, has launched such a scheme. The company replaces the old internal combustion engine (petrol-powered) scooter with an electric motor and a battery to replace it with an electric scooter. The company charges only Rs 20,000 for it.

Demand is increasing

According to a report, the company is installing a retrofit kit in the old scooter which comes with an electric motor, battery. Bounce co-founder Vivekananda Hallekar said the company had started converting old traditional scooters into electric scooters as a pilot project. But it soon became known that it could prove to be a big market.

However after the bounce now many companies are coming up with such kits. These include Etrio and Meladath Autocomponent. Importantly, petrol has crossed Rs 100 a liter in many cities of the country. Many people have turned to electric scooters. Recently, companies like Ola, Hero, Simple Energy have launched many good models of electric scooters in the market.
